Locavore Winemaker Dinner Set for November 12 at Caffe BoaFoodies and Wine-O’s alike won’t want to miss this one : Highlyacclaimed Chef Payton Curry of Caffe Boa is introducing his flair for fine wine and foods with a winemaker dinner set for November 12. Curry’s passion for using locallygrown and seasonal ingredients is well-known in the Valley and beloved by many at his former post with the now-defunct Digestif. Curry has harnessed his skill, passion and signature style for a one-of-a-kind food and wine showcase that will be his first winemaker dinner since joining the Caffe Boa team.The six-course “Locavore” menu scheduled for the evening uses only locally-sourced ingredients and incorporates his Black Mesa Ranch Berkshire grass-fed pig, along with other delectable items on the menu. Each course has been paired with a wine by Lioco Winery—the 2009 Winery of the Year by Wine & Spirits— and has been hand-picked to bring out and compliment the flavors of each and every bite. A longtime locale for organic and sustainable gourmet dining, Caffe Boa still sources more than 90% of its products from local farms, markets and gourmet food proprietors. Owner Jay Wisniewski credits Boa’s commitment to local sourcing and sustainability to the enhanced quality and taste of the products derived from local sources, a philosophy shared by Curry. “I am very excited to show guests how locally-sourced foods can truly come together and make for a great meal,” Curry said, “Especially when paired with a fine wine,” Curry said. Guests can enjoy the Lioco Winemaker Dinner for $79 which includes six courses and each wine pairing. Conversations by Curry and Lioco Winery Owner, Matt Licklider, will enhance the evening.
