The first Terminator (1984) movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton set the tone for the sci-fi adventure of altering the future by going back into the past to change events, in order to change the future. The next two Terminator films (1991, 2003) gave us the young boy John Conner as he learns his destiny and the role that he will have in the battle with Skynet, the catalyst for the cyborg-machines intent on the annihilation of mankind. The TV series The Chronicles of Sara Connor (John Connor’s mother), established by Linda Hamilton’s character, moved us along, as John Connor becomes a young man accepting his destiny of leading the resistance to defeat Skynet and the “terminator” machines. Now, its post-apocalyptic 2018 after Skynet have destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. John Connor (Christian Bale of Batman fame) finds the future he was raised to believe in, is altered by the appearance of a mysterious stranger (Sam Worthington) who joins him on an odyssey with a group of survivors. The journey takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations and the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind, as they fight to keep the machines from finishing the job. Starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin, Kyle Reese, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jane Alexander, and Michael Ironside.
