See a Movie and Visit the Disney Lot You can visit Los Angeles and stop by almost any of the major motion picture or television studios and take a guided tour. The one studio that most film and animation fanatics would most like to see behind the gates does not offer visitor access; Disney. A recent announcement from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures should please the most die-hard of film fans. The Burbank-based studio is opening up the lot for a special event this fall. While you will not be free to roam the property, you will be able to immerse yourself in an experience unlike any other offered before by “the mouse. ” Billed as the “Ultimate Disney Event,” filmgoers will be able to see The Princess and the Frog in limited release prior to the nationwide opening beginning on November 24 exclusively at a brandnew state of the art theatre at the Walt Disney Studios lot on Riverside Drive in Burbank. (The film is also being screened in New York City at Ziegfeld Theatre on West 54th). While at Soundstage 3 for this special event, patrons will be able to meet all of the Disney Princesses, including Tiana. You will also learn how to draw from a Disney animator, see props and costumes from Disney films, swing on ropes and trees in the “Bayou Adventure” and take pictures at Kodak photo locations. In total, the experience will be 3 ½ hours of family fun. The Princess and the Frog is a musical animated comedy set in New Orleans. It is a modern twist on a classic tale. The story is set around a beautiful girl named Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose), a frog price who wishes to be human again and a fateful kiss that leads them on an adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana. Featuring hand-drawn animation by John Musker and Ron Clements, and music by composer Randy Newman, The Princess and the Frog is poised to be one of the biggest films of the season. Tickets for this special limited engagement event at the Burbank Studios in Burbank are on sale now and many show times have already sold out.
