The Arizona Rattlers are Back...2010!
The Arizona Rattlers are back! They have reformed under new ownership and have recruited some of the best and brightest in the game to assure that football fans in Phoenix don’t have to suffer through another summer without the hard hitting action we love. They just played their first game of the season against a tough Cleveland Gladiators team and came out on top 61 to 56.

It was a great warm up for the home opener April 16th against Mike Ditka’s Chicago Rush at US Airways Center. If you just crawled out from under a rock, you may not have heard that the Rattlers did something that has never been done before. The team decided to cut all of us football fans a break by literally giving away all of the tickets to their home opener to anyone who wanted to go enjoy a great game.

That’s right, they gave them away!!! They sacrificed over $500,000 in revenues to help all of us out as we deal with this lousy economy. On top of that, they have dirt-cheap ticket prices with lower bowl seats for as little as $17 for a single game or $10 per game for season tickets! Arena football differs from college football or the NFL in that it is played indoors on a much smaller field, which leads to more action and a feeling that you, the fan, are IN the game.

Even the seats furthest from the field at an Arizona Rattlers are closer to the action than the best at an NFL game. Because the Rattlers play at US Airways Center, most of the seats are so close to the action that fans really feel the hits and can get into the game. It’s a sports experience unlike any other. Another cool thing about the Rattlers is that they don’t have that snotty “we’re better than you” attitude.

Team president Danny White and head coach Kevin Guy have selected players who love the game for all the right reasons. No one is getting rich but they are all doing it because they love, live, eat, breath and sleep football and they just have to suit up and play every chance they get! That’s the kind of athletes we should support, and if we can do it affordably and have a great time in the process, that’s even better. Check out the Arizona Rattlers. They’re the best deal in sports this town has to offer.
